“You don’t have to figure it out alone — counselling offers understanding, perspective, and support when life feels heavy.”

Professional counsellor providing compassionate mental health support in a welcoming environment

Hi, I'm Carly.

I founded Mira Counselling to create a space where people can talk honestly about the things that are weighing on them — without judgement, without pressure, and at their own pace.

I specialise in supporting people through stress and burnout, grief and loss, and mid-life transitions including menopause — whether you're going through it yourself or trying to support someone you love through it.

Life can be complex, overwhelming, and at times deeply painful. You don't have to navigate it alone.

A bit about me

Originally from Australia, I studied Psychology in Perth before relocating to the UK over 15 years ago. I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent many years working in high-pressure corporate environments. That experience gives me a grounded, real-world understanding of burnout, leadership pressure, work-life balance, and the kind of stress that's hard to articulate — where you're holding everything together on the outside while quietly struggling underneath.

Alongside my private practice, I work with a bereavement service and a women's charity, supporting people through grief, loss, relationship endings, identity shifts, and significant life changes including perimenopause.

How I work

My approach is collaborative and tailored to you — because no two people arrive at counselling the same way. Sessions are relaxed and honest, with space for the difficult stuff and room for moments of lightness and even humour when they arise.

Ready to take the first step?

Starting counselling can feel like a big decision. That's why I offer a free, no-obligation call so you can get a sense of how I work and decide whether it feels like the right fit.

I'd love to hear from you.
